Brahmatal Trek

Brahmatal is a lake that is found deep within the Himalayan region, amidst the mighty mountain ranges and natural flora and fauna of Garhwal. The Brahmatal Trek Altitude ascends to12,150 ft. A sight to behold in all its snow-clad glory, Brahmatal Trek in winters is one of the few most beautiful treks in winter, through out the world.

Brahmatal is a treasure house of mythological tales. Brahmatal Lake itself receives its name from one of these stories according to which Lord Brahma meditated at this location. The base camp of Brahmatal trek – Lohagunj, is a tiny Himalayan village that is rich in culture and mythological tales.

Itisa delight to interact with the local people of Lohagunj and listen to ancient tales that are native to the Brahmatal Lake. The Brahmatal temperature in winter is pretty cold but suits trekking. In the daytime, temperature in brahmatal ranges between 0°C to 2°C. Atthe night, the temperatures fall from around -5°C to -10°C. Butitis still slightly better in the tents. The Brahmatal Trek is also traversed in summers.

In the daytime, Brahmatal weather remains cool and pleasant. Brahmatal trek temperatures vary depending on the altitude that you are at, during the trek. In camps at a lower altitude, the Brahmatal trek weather is pleasant at around 10°C. At the higher camps, the Brahmatal trek temperatures can be around 2°C. The Brahmatal Lake And Betal lake lies completely frozen in winter.

It is a delight for shutterbugs. The entire trek is full of panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges and Garhwals now line. Some of the most well-known peaks that stand brilliantly across the sky and are visible on Brahmatal trek are Trishul, Nanda ghunti, Chowkhamba, Nilkanth, Kamet, Hathi, and Ghoda peaks. Brahmatal Trek at such a low range is one of the rare sights from where these gigantic ranges are visible.

Walking through snow-clad conifer, Cedar, Oak, and Fir Forests on the way to Brahmatal Lake is an absolute delight amongs the winter months. While trekking one can also view the serene beauty of Ali Bugyal, Bedni Bugyal & Junargali.
